01 - Philosophy & Principles
Core Concept
LEKA is a living language for family and chosen community. It is not a code or a secret — it is a home.
The language exists to:
- Belong, not to exclude
- Hold values, stories, rituals, humor, and music
- Evolve with the people who speak it
- Preserve every era of itself
Guiding Principles
🏛️ Culture first
Language serves the people, not the reverse. If a rule gets in the way of belonging, the rule changes.
📖 Nothing added without a story
Every word, glyph, and rule has a reason it exists. Origin matters. When something enters LEKA, we know why.
🗄️ Never overwrite versions
Every era is preserved. When a word changes, the old version moves to #deprecated — it isn't deleted.
🌱 Invite slang and mutation
The community shapes the language. Coinages from speakers are welcomed and tagged #community-coined.
🤝 Use before expanding
We don't add new words until existing ones are in active use. Vocabulary grows in response to need, not ahead of it.
What LEKA is not
- Not a private code (it values belonging over secrecy)
- Not a finished system (it evolves)
- Not a single author's invention (the community contributes)
- Not a replacement for any other language (it lives alongside)
