LEKA Meaning Story
siel sky Spanish cielo, French ciel, Italian cielo softened. Chosen over aka and nila because the Romance word for sky shows up in countless song lyrics — siel keeps that melodic heritage.
suya sun Sanskrit sūrya (the sun god, and the sun itself). The Sanskrit root brings reverence to the word.
luna moon Spanish and Italian luna. Identical in both — no work needed. The moon belongs to all Romance speakers equally.
tara star Sanskrit tārā (star, also a goddess of compassion). One of the most beautiful Sanskrit roots, kept whole.
akua water Latin/Italian acqua, adjusted to LEKA's no-Q rule. Water as the universal — the word almost every Romance language shares.
agni fire Sanskrit agni — the Vedic god of fire, and the literal word for fire. Sharp, alive, kept intact.
kaze wind Japanese kaze. The wind-word that gave us kamikaze (divine wind). Soft, moving.
tera earth / ground Spanish tierra, Italian terra. The ground beneath, kept simple.
mori forest / trees Japanese mori (forest). The word carries the Japanese sense of forest as living place, not just collection of trees.
yama mountain Japanese yama. Short, weighty, the sound of a mountain rising.
mar sea / ocean Spanish mar, French mer, Italian mare trimmed. The sea-word shared across all Romance languages.
pana stone / rock Sanskrit pāṣāṇa simplified. The grounding word — what cannot be moved.
hana flower Japanese hana — already in LEKA as "nose/face." We let it carry "flower" too, embracing the original Japanese double meaning. See Body.
